Madonna denies marriage split reports

Singer Madonna has denied reports which claim that her marriage to film director Guy Ritchie is in trouble.
The reports, which have been circulating in the media for several weeks, were further fuelled last week when Ritchie failed to appear at Madonna's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
However, Madonna's US spokesperson, Liz Rosenberg, has denied rumours of a split, saying: "I am delighted to confirm that Mr and Mrs Guy Ritchie remain happily married."
She continued: "Though they were in different countries recently - Madonna in the US doing promotion for her upcoming album 'Hard Candy' and Guy finishing up post-production on his new film 'RocknRolla' as well as completing a Nike commercial and working on several scripts in England - the family are joyfully back together at home in London. All is well and wonderful in the Ritchie household."

John Cusack ponders disaster flick

Actor in negotiations to star in apocalyptic '2012'

John Cusack is eyeing a big budget production disaster flick as his next project.

The actor is in negotiations to star in Roland Emmerich's apocalyptic "2012," about the end of the world, for Columbia Pictures.

Cusack is in talks to play divorced dad Jackson Curtis, who's a writer and limo driver, the studio said.

The script blends the idea of a Mayan calendar, which predicts the end of the world in 2012, with natural disasters, such as volcanic eruptions, typhoons and glaciers plaguing the planet and a large cast of characters dealing with the mayhem.

Emmerich, known for his big-budget disaster movies, penned the script with his "10,000 B.C." co-writer Harald Kloser. The two are producing and Emmerich is helming the project as well.

"2012" was the first big spec to hit the market after the writers strike. Though the project was shopped around with a $200 million budget, Columbia says it will be made for less than that.

The studio is planning a July 10, 2009 release.

News of Cusack's negotiations was first broke by Entertainment Weekly.

Cusack is repped by WMA.
